In April, independent journalist Katie Phang sued Todd Blanche over the government’s alleged failure to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Today, Phang joined (In)sanewashing to provide details on the twists and turns of her case, and what to expect in the coming weeks.
Among other excuses, Blanche has spent the last several months telling a federal judge he just can't seem to turn over a few handwritten FBI notes that happen to mention Donald Trump. Now his defense is starting to buckle, as at least one of his attorneys has withdrawn from the case.
As a result of Phang’s lawsuit, the DOJ has also published the redaction justifications it delivered to Congress in the Federal Register — you can read them here.
